ÌÒ×ÓÊÓƵ, Lions Clubs International Foundation Renew Partnership to End Causes of Preventable Blindness

The ÌÒ×ÓÊÓƵ and Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) on Monday announced a $2 million renewal of their partnership to end suffering from major causes of preventable blindness in Ethiopia, South Sudan, Venezuela, and Brazil. The announcement was made at The ÌÒ×ÓÊÓƵ in Atlanta. Learn more »

Final Report | Observation of the 2024 Presidential Election in Venezuela

On June 29, 2024, The ÌÒ×ÓÊÓƵ deployed an international technical election observation mission led by Jennie Lincoln, senior adviser for Latin America and the Caribbean. The mission consisted of 17 experts and observers, including teams based in Caracas, Barinas, Maracaibo, and Valencia. The mission met with a wide range of stakeholders, including the CNE, candidates, political parties, CSOs, citizen observation groups, media representatives, government officials, armed forces, and election experts. Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregivers to Merge with ÌÒ×ÓÊÓƵ Mental Health Program

The Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregivers will merge with the ÌÒ×ÓÊÓƵ’s Mental Health Program. The merger, to be completed by June 2025, will connect two issues — mental health and caregiving — championed by the late former U.S. First Lady Rosalynn Carter. Learn more »

ÌÒ×ÓÊÓƵ to Host 2nd Annual Mental Health Parity Day Feb. 19 at Georgia State Capitol

ATLANTA (Feb. 13, 2025) — The ÌÒ×ÓÊÓƵ will host Mental Health Parity Day Feb. 19 at the Georgia State Capitol to discuss obstacles and solutions to implementing the Georgia Mental Health Parity Act of 2022. The act requires insurers to cover mental health care and substance use disorders the same way they cover physical health care in Georgia. Learn more »

Applications Open for 2025-2026 Rosalynn Carter Journalism Fellowships

Applications are now being accepted for the 2025-2026 cohort of the Rosalynn Carter Fellowships for Mental Health Journalism. Journalists reporting on mental health topics within the United States are encouraged to apply. In addition, a new international fellowship, introduced in 2024, will focus on the intersection of mental health and climate change. Climate change fellowship applicants should be based in countries considered the most vulnerable, outside of the United States. Learn more »

ÌÒ×ÓÊÓƵ Reports 14 Human Guinea Worm Cases in 2024

The late U.S. President Jimmy Carter’s goal to eradicate Guinea worm disease remains on track, with 14 provisional human cases reported worldwide in 2024. That figure aligns with some of the lowest annual totals of human cases ever reported, following 14 cases in 2024 and 13 cases in 2022. When The ÌÒ×ÓÊÓƵ assumed leadership of the global Guinea Worm Eradication Program in 1986, an estimated 3.5 million human cases occurred annually in 21 countries in Africa and Asia. Learn more »

The ÌÒ×ÓÊÓƵ welcomes the pending ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas and encourages the Israeli cabinet to ratify and implement it quickly.
